Paris, Ill. (ECWd) –
As part of our settlement with Paris Union School District 95 related to a Freedom of Information Act (“FOIA”) lawsuit we filed in July of 2023, the district provided the unredacted Federal Grand Jury Subpoena – which they should have provided under the initial FOIA request.
We now know that the Federal Grand Jury was after records related to former District 95 Superintendent Jeremy Larson, former Mayo Middle School Secretary Sally Keller, and former Mayo Middle School Principal Kyle Shay – which consisted of more than 125 checks written to those three combined.
The grand jury was also after email communications between them and other items of their interest along with a long list of purchases made.
Shay was recently indicted, along with Megan Carroll, former principal of Carolyn Wenz Elementary School.
