Lakewood, IL. Mayor Paul D. Serwatka resigned -

BY JOHN KRAFT & KIRK ALLEN

ON August 2, 2018

Lakewood, IL. (ECWd) -

The village of Lakewood Mayor Paul D. Serwatka resigned effective July 31, 2018, at 4:30 p.m.

He submitted a letter (read it here) which included his resignation and that he has been spending more time "out of state" and will no longer serve as Mayor.

We wrote about Serwatka several weeks ago when we detailed his illegal attempt at removing two village trustees from office by sending them a letter stating they were no longer trustees. How he ever thought he had that authority we will probably never know. His resignation follows his letter purporting to remove the two trustees, which was embarrassing for him and his supporters.

He left his position calling some trustees "obstructionists" on his way out the door.

interesting – what he meant was the trustee’s didn’t agree with him so he had wanted them gone – many in power only want “yes” men/women, not people who will speak their mind.
