Joliet, IL. (ECWd) –

With an estimated value on Redfin of over $153,000.00, some trying to minimize embarrassment to the school district would have people believe the house Coach Ernst lives in, and the District owns, is a “shack”.

Far from it!

Below are pictures from “Redfin.com” who had this house listed prior to its purchase by D-210.

Enjoy this “shack” with:

  • Central heat and air conditioning
  • 2 bedroom
  • washer and dryer
  • new paint
  • partial basement
  • Hardwood floors
  • Hardwood cabinetry
  • wrap-around deck
  • storage building
  • 2-car garage
  • approximately 1 acre lot
  • free yard maintenance to “connected” people (here)

“Nice two bedroom home on one acre. Freshly painted. Spacious master bedroom, partial basement, large 20′ X 26′ deck. detached two car garage with lean-to and shed. Updates include well in 2010, central air 2008, roof in 2007. Updated electric, washer and dryer stay. Country atmosphere with tall mature trees. “

Not many would call this one a “shack”…

I’d pay $1,200.00 monthly and even cut my own grass.

  • LW Resident who actually pays for their house

In unit laundry, hardwood floors, huge yard, garage, and a basement! Wow. I paid $1,300 a month about five years ago to rent a one bedroom apartment in Romeoville. No garage, no hardwood floors, no laundry.

That’s just ridiculous. Such an abuse. Thank you ECW for showing yet another huge LW error.

I think my favorite part is, this was done with the current administration. Not the Wylie leadership, but this was rented out under Tingley. Goes to show that not much at al has changed. Different people, same problems. Such a shame.

Wonder why the school district didn’t hire a real estate professional for comparable rents in the area before leasing the home to the current tenant. Sweet deal for the tenant, VERY bad deal for the tax payers. There’s more to this than just cheap rent including landscaping. What else is the district doing with your real estate tax money funding the school district system?
