DuPage Co. (ECWd) –
It’s official! The Illinois Community College Board (ICCB) has for the first time in its history, appointed a person to fill a vacant community college trustee position. In this case, the College of DuPage Trustee seat formerly held by Kathy Hamilton.
David Olsen was appointed according to the ICCB news release this morning. Olsen “was elected to the Downers Grove Village Council in 2013 and was named as Mayor Pro Tem in 2015. He is a longtime resident of Downers Grove with a passion for serving the community and listening to ideas and concerns from all residents and community stakeholders.” (As written on the Downers Grove web-site)
I would encourage everyone to read his BIO on the Downers Grove web-site. All indications are this young man truly has a heart to serve and it appears his peers trust his ability to do just that.
With the vacancy filled, we can only speculate what the Breuder Board will attempt now. I suspect at this stage in the events, Olsen’s phone is going to be burning up from calls on both sides of matters in hopes of swaying him to their position.
We look forward to meeting Mr. Olsen and watching how things evolve at COD now that the vacant seat has been officially filled.
The next COD meeting is scheduled for February 18th, 2016, 7pm. In the event the time changes we will update with a new article accordingly.
Congratulations Mr. Oslen. Welcome to one of the finest educational institutions in the country!
Please consider a donation to the Edgar County Watchdogs.

Apparently Trustee McGuire is none too please with the selection of new Trustee Olsen. Well Diane McGuire and friends you wanted the ICCB to pick the new trustee so be careful what you wish for! Chair Mazzochi gave you numerous opportunities to have a discussion about the new trustee selection but you refused to participate.
I hope during next Thursday’s meeting the Board will agree to provide the closed meeting minutes that the State’s Attorney has requested.

I would like to encourage the breuder bunch to make a real “statement” on this selection and resign en masse.
