College of DuPage – McGuire, Birt, Wozniak abuse public trust again –

By John Kraft & Kirk Allen

On January 14, 2016

College of DuPage (ECWd) –

The “Rogue Three” did not show for the fourth meeting in a row.

This is becoming a habit by calling special meetings, then never showing for the meetings they called.

The agenda for this meeting specifically states that if not completed by 7:00 p.m., it would recess so the 7:00 p.m. meeting would start on time.

Please send the trustees an email and let them know what you think of their private vendetta, and its effect on the College of DuPage.

This is from the latest Trib article today. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/watchdog/ct-nvs-college-of-dupage-meeting-st-0115-20160114-story.html

“In a sign that the board is unlikely to agree on a replacement and that the boycott may continue for a while, McGuire told ICCB chairman Lazaro Lopez that the college’s business will not resume until the vacancy is filled.

“It appears necessary for you to appoint a trustee to fill the vacant position on the COD Board of Trustees,” McGuire wrote in a letter dated Thursday and released to the Tribune.”

As usual the Trib is printing incorrect information stating that the 1st meeting start time was 6:45pm when in fact it was 6:30pm. Now trustee McGuire is talking directly to the ICCB Lazaro Lopez. McGuire is completely out of control and unstable.

When Trustee Bernstein first got on the board he made an effort to build a relationship with Trustee Dianne McGuire. I believe he mentioned he had coffee with her. Trying to get to know & understand her. Unfortunately Bernstein, I think, is realizing how unhinged and untrustworthy Dianne McGuire really is.

Can their trustee spots be considered vacant since they’ve missed 4 meetings in a row without any notice that they would be absent? They need to appoint people that care to fill those 3 spots so they can get on with taking care of business. They don’t want to do their jobs, so obviously they don’t want to stay trustees?

I think the only resolution will involve Illinois Law Enforcement at some level. As has been pointed out here by ECWD, the three rogue trustees are openly committing felonies by withholding action and intimidating Dr. Collins, Vice-Chair Mazzochi and other board members. I had hopes for the criminal complaint filed by Ed Franckowiak but have not heard of any action taken on the complaint. I contacted State Rep. Jeanne Ives who has been present and spoken in public comment at some of the most turbulent board meeting. Since I don’t live in her district, she passed my concerns on to Rep. Peter Breen. Maybe we have to get AG Lisa Madigan involved. What are citizens suppose to do??

COD employee Bob Hazard wrote 4 months ago here in a comment:

” I’m sure [ Bob ] Berlin’s decision to not pursue this case has nothing to do with the fact that one of his staff members, Mike O’Donnell, is the husband of former COD board member Allison O’Donnell. O’Donnell voted for Breuder’s retirement package as well and at least one of his contract extensions.”

Sounds to me like a conflict of interest within the DuPage County States Attorney Office of Bob Berlin. How can you expect an impartial decision from Bob Berlin ( or his staff members ) to prosecute these allegations of COD OMA violations if there is a conflict of interest ( or was before )?

I suspect no charges will be filed just like he decided before obviously. To expect different this time is a fantasy not reality in my opinion. This DuPage County States Attorney Bob Berlin is part of the problem, not the solution to it apparently…but I hope im wrong. Have a nice day.

Smart move by the dissenters again. Mazzochi’s faction has the upper hand with her interim chair status and ability to set the agenda and break ties. A new seventh ICCB appointee upsets that ability to the degree they are more neutral.

Huh??? As my head is doing a 360 degree spin. In politics when the majority becomes the minority, the minority usually respects the results and continues to do the people’s business. The minority does not shut down business. Mazzochi will still have control on the agenda when the 7th trustee is appointed. As pointed out last night COD is not paying it’s bills due to the negligence of Birt, McGuire, and Wozniak. COD will have to pay late fees costing the college thousands of dollars. All because of the petulant 3 Breuder trustees. I thought McGuire was so concerned about COD expenses.
