Chicago, IL. (ECWd) -
The Edgar County Watchdogs were asked to speak at the Chicago Tax Day Tea Party on April 15, 2015 and had the privilege of listening to a variety of speakers, which included those listed (here).
All of the presenters were very well recieved and brought with them a true message of hope for this country provided we all work together for the great good of the people, not ourselves!
Adam Andrzejewski, founder of American Transparency web site Open the Books, fired up the crowd with a speech that drew a standing ovation - his focus was on State Agencies funding Lobbyists and the recent board turn-over at the College of DuPage. He was followed by Kathy Hamilton who talked about the troubles at College of DuPage.
David From, State Director for Americans for Prosperity shared some of their accomplishments pertaining to tax issues in the state and should be commended for the hard work of saving the citizens of this state a fortune from attempted unjustifiable tax increases.
Especially exciting for our organization is the fact we have been asked to team up with the two above listed organizations and tour the state and provide training courses pertaining to each of our perspective organizations work. More on that coming soon!
ECWd has also accepted invitations to be on a panel discussion in Naperville. The topic is citizen engagement, or, why people talk about politics but don't vote, or, why people don't listen to the League, at the Chicago League of Women Voters State Convention in June. In addition to that event, we have accepted an invitation to speak at the Libertarian Party annual convention in Springfield in August.
