Keith Freeman’s Sentencing Date Postponed For At Least Another Six Months –

Dolton, Ill. (ECWd) –

During the September 17, 2026, status hearing, Keith Freeman agreed to another extension, for 6 months, until the next status hearing. His sentencing is again postponed because the government anticipates at least another 6 months of cooperation is needed.

JOINT STATUS REPORT
The United States of America, by Andrew S. Boutros, United States Attorney
for the Northern District of Illinois, respectfully submits the following joint status
report pursuant to the Court’s order on March 17, 2026 (Dkt. 35):

1. On April 15, 2024, defendant Keith Douglas Freeman was charged by indictment with one count of bankruptcy fraud. Dkt. 1. On March 13, 2023, defendant was charged by superseding information with one count of bankruptcy fraud and one count of filing a false tax return. Dkt. 32.
2. On March 17, 2026, defendant pled guilty to Counts 1 and 2 of the superseding information. Dkt. 37. As part of his plea agreement, defendant agreed to cooperate with the government in an ongoing investigation. Dkt. 37.
3. Defendant continues to cooperate with the government and its investigation. The government anticipates defendant’s cooperation will continue for at least the next six months.
4. As a result, the governments ask this Court to submit a status report in another six months.

In view of the contents of the joint status report, Defendant’s sentencing remains deferred until further order. An updated status report is due in six months, or sooner upon any material developments in this case.
