After our Freedom of Information Act request was finally received, we received a letter from the attorney representing the township, Joseph Schroeder.
He advised that the address we sent the FOIA to was a personal residence, which we knew. The reason it was sent to that address is that it is the address provided to us by the County Clerk. The attorney indicated our request eventually reached the hands of the now acting Supervisor and he requested an extension of time to respond, which we agreed to.
We have confirmed that the supervisor who was dodging my calls, Tom Grable, has resigned, his wife, Kim Grable, the Clerk, has not resigned as of October 7, 2025, and the Illinois State Police are in fact investigating matters at the Township.
We have submitted a FOIA to the ISP; however, we doubt we will get anything until the investigation is completed.
We have been told there is over $100K misappropriated from the Township, but until we get key records, we cannot confirm that information.
