Clark Co., Ill. (ECWd) –
We received information regarding potential financial malfeasance in the Dolson Township a few weeks ago.
I first asked the Township Supervisor for a good email address for the Township and was told he would have to get it from Kim, who ever Kim is.
I then received a text, “Who is this?” “Have we met with you?”
It went downhill from there.
A: Kirk Allen. We have not met.
Q: What is your involvement with the township? Are you part of the watchdogs?
A: Edgar County Watchdogs. Need email to communicate with the Township.
We know the message was read 9 minutes after being sent on 9/3/2025.
A couple of days later, I asked, “Any idea when we will get the email address?” This message was delivered and read at 8:49 pm the day after it was sent.
Five days later: Please provide the mailing address for the township. This message was delivered; however, it was never read, which indicates the Supervisor is blocking my number now.
After gathering information from the County Clerk’s office, including a mailing address for the township, I mailed a Freedom of Information Act request.
It was delivered to their mailbox on 9/24/2025 at 10:38 am. It was addressed to both the Supervisor and the Clerk. We now know the Township Supervisor is Tom Grable, and Kim Grable, allegedly his wife, is the Township Clerk.
After waiting the appropriate time frame for a FOIA response and not receiving anything back, I sent another text to the Supervisor.
“Ignoring me does not help matters. Please provide the records requested and the meeting schedule”.
Crickets!
We ask the citizens of Dolson Township to demand accountability and compliance with the law from their elected officials. The Township has refused to provide any information pertaining to meetings or basic Freedom of Information Act requests. This is unacceptable, especially in light of the allegations floating around indicating a large sum of money has gone missing.
If anyone has information as to when the Township has its meetings, we would appreciate it if you would send that information to us.
For those who wish to contact the Supervisor directly, his number is 217-264-9063, unless he has obtained a new number after our attempts to communicate with him.
A request for review has been filed with the Attorney General PAC on our FOIA request that has been ignored. It will be interesting to see how the Supervisor deals with the AG on this matter.
