Dolton’s Law Firm: Nobody Wants To Represent The Village – Village Becoming Uninsurable –

By John Kraft & Kirk Allen

On April 29, 2024

Dolton, Ill. (ECWd) –

We recently published the Del Galdo Law Group (Dolton’s legal firm) Motion to Withdraw on one of our FOIA lawsuits against the village of Dolton.

We have now obtained a copy of the three-page letter from Del Galdo to Mayor Tiffany Henyard and the Village of Dolton Trustees, which, while not surprising, is fairly damning, and shows how far down an out-of-control Mayor can drag one village while prosecutors appear to slow-walk any accountability.

From the letter:

  • They are withdrawing representation from 16 current court cases, and from at least 2 newly filed cases
  • They trashed on the attorneys representing four of the Trustees
  • Nobody wants to represent the village
  • Del Galdo has not been getting paid. while still racking up legal bills
  • The Village will owe $20 million in excess of their policy limits on one case alone
  • The Village is quickly approaching the point of being uninsurable
  • Del Galdo urges the corporate authorities to “work together”

We believe Del Galdo should have demanded, as a condition of their representation, that Mayor Tiffany Henyard reign in her abusive and alleged criminal conduct long ago. Strong admonition from her own attorneys might have stopped her from dragging the village down as far as she has in the past couple of years.

  1. Also, does anyone consider it normal for a Village of 20,000 people to be defending 21 active lawsuits in the past two years? I count 13 Cook County cases and 8 federal cases, and that’s the ACTIVE ones, and just in the past two years. By comparison, the cities of Charleston and Mattoon, of similar population have 8 and 6 cases active respectively, in the Coles County Court, and Charleston looks to have one in federal. You are not doing something right if you are being sued with that frequency.

  2. Thank you “WatchDogs” for all you do….if “staying informed” would lead to ACTION by our citizens, then there would be REAL success!!

  3. Let’s watch the former Chicago mayor “Beetlejuice” become wildly successful taking over and WINNING these nineteen lawsuits. She’s going to do a great job representing Dolton and their fearless leader.

  4. Illinois SUCKS!! Corruption reigns supreme. No one has the backbone to stand up.

    SICKENING!!!
