Springfield, IL. (ECWd) –
Attorney Thomas DeVore has filed a Defamation Per Se action against Governor Pritzker on October 29, 2021, alleging the Governor’s statement at a press conference:
- imputed the Plaintiff had committed a criminal action
- imputed that Plaintiff was unable to perform or lacks integrity in performing his employment duties as an attorney
- imputed that Plaintiff lacked ability or otherwise prejudiced the Plaintiff in his profession
The complained-of statements:
“Well, you know, he’s a grifter who is taking money from parents who are being taken advantage of.”
“So I hope that the, you know, the reign of grifting and terror that he is trying to bring about in the school districts will come to an[d] (sic) end.”
DeVore is asking for damages in excess of $50k.

The case is docketed 2021-L-000184 in the 7th circuit, Sangamon County. According to case records, a briefing schedule and notice of hearing have been filed. Let’s find out if the status quo prevails, or if the court keeps to the briefing schedule instead.
IMHO, JB Pritzker’s press on Mr. DeVore as being a “grifter” seems, at the very least, unprofessional.

Mr Devore – I hope you get him. He talks about you and what you are doing to people. He has destroyed Illinois, we would not even be in this position to fight for our rights and hire attorneys to protect us if it were not for his being a dictator and taking money and our constitutional rights away from us.
Why only 50K? Why not one million or two? This prtizker guy is so full of it. He is the one who is stealing from we the people of Illinois not only financially but emotionally, and mentally but medically and more. .He needs to be removed from office and Illinois!
That’s just legal jargon. That is the way the court papers always word it.
Mr. Devore go after JBP and don’t let up! He’s a lazy, narcissistic bully who acts asf if he can insult and intimidate anytime he wishes. He needs to finally face consequences for his inexcusable behaviour.
