Shelby Co., Ill. (ECWd) –
We covered the dismissal of the Sheriff from the lawsuit brought by Chad Hammond in this article. According to the public records obtained through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the Shelby County State’s Attorney, ADVANCED CORRECTIONAL HEALTHCARE (ACH)
and USA MEDICAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL STAFFING (USA MEDICAL) has entered into an agreed-upon settlement and release of all claims.
The settlement only provided Hammond with $1,000.00, which is nowhere near the $1,100,000.00 provided in the settlement for Nicholas Banning, of which $250,000.00 was with the same medical provider, ACH as covered in this article.
Why so little compared to the Banning case, considering there was a very similar lack of medical care claim? We suspect this is the difference between having an experienced law firm handle your case versus handling it pro se as Hammond did.
A copy of the settlement agreement and release of all claims can be downloaded at this link or viewed below.

Wow! Blows me away the things you help get right!
Wonder how long until the Sheriff stops contracting with this outfit? Perhaps he should manage the jail instead of putting it I the hands of a company who is not present. The jail is his responsibility. Slow learner.
