By John Kraft & Kirk Allen

On August 17, 2022

Will Co., IL. (ECWd) –

Nine alleged members of the Executive Committee of the Veterans Assistance Commission of Will County have been sued by a Delegate and Alternate to the Veterans Assistance Commission.

Plaintiffs have both been selected and appointed as members of the Veterans Assistance Commission for 2022 by their Veteran Service Organization (“VSO”), and the Defendants claiming membership have not been selected by any Veteran Service Organization in 2022 as state law requires.

This Complaint seeks declaratory and injunctive relief declaring the Will County Veterans Assistance Commision (“VAC”) as illegally constituted and to enjoin them from undertaking further action as the VAC.

It also seeks the Ouster of the following alleged members of the Commission, who have not been selected or appointed by a legitimate Veteran Service Organization as that term is defined in the Illinois Military Veterans Assistance Act (“MVAA”).

  • Jack Picciolo – Alleged President of the Commission. He admitted during the May 2022 meeting that he has not been a delegate for several years and does not remember which VSO he was a delegate for when he was actually a delegate.
  • Denise Williams – Secretary
  • Amanda Koch – Sgt-At-Arms
  • Jim Singler –
  • Tom Mlynek –
  • Vic Martinka –
  • John York –
  • Wayne Horn –
  • Janet Blue –
