After Public Outcry, Decatur School District Votes Down $30k Bonus –

Decatur, IL. (ECWd) –

After public outcry, the Decatur Public School District #61 Board of Education voted down a proposed $30,000 bonus for Assistant Superintendent Jeff Dase. The remaining bonuses, of far lesser amounts were approved.

The Board attended this meeting electronically, and it is our understanding that if people wanted to speak to the Board during public comment they had to physically show up to the Board room. I know, it makes no sense…

Video of the public comment, discussion, and vote on the bonus below:

According to the public comment agenda intro….written comments submitted for public comment would be read….so the meeting did not require in person attendance.

Ya’ know, I always wonder what happens when the public sector runs out of the private sector’s money….when taxing to pay for public sector jobs increases more than wages from the private sector jobs I don’t see how either survives. It’s like the parasite eating its host. They both die.

Wow, how out of touch with reality can this place be.
