IL. State Rep. Luis Arroyo resigned today, read his resignation letter below.

His resignation letter says he took great pride in being a strong independent voice from his constituents, and that he made the decision that the time has come for him to retire from public service.

He acknowledges his continued service would be a distractor and the public service should only be for a duration of time wherein you are an effective member of the body.

Arroyo has recently been arrested on Bribery charges.
