Kansas, IL. (ECWd) –

At approximately 2:45 am on Monday, April 29, 2019, the Kansas Fire Protection District responded to a building fire next to the TGM grain elevator.  The building was a past fertilizer storage barn converted to farm storage.  It was fully involved in fire upon their arrival.  The fire was suppressed fairly quickly with mop-up operations taking approximately 2 hours.  With assistance from Ashmore Fire Protection District, they were able to protect a nearby tractor-trailer and farm storage building.  Neither received any damage from the fire.

Also standing by was the Kansas Ambulance.

There were two farm trucks, an antique tractor, and a trailer stored in the building along with numerous other miscellaneous farm related items.

There were no injuries and the Illinois State Fire Marshal is currently investigating the cause of the fire.
