Maine Township - AG confirms OMA violation - Record destroyed in violation of law

BY KIRK ALLEN & JOHN KRAFT

ON May 18, 2018

Cook Co. (ECWd) -

Once again the Attorney General Public Access Counselor has determined that Maine Township violated the Open Meetings Act with their illegal vote and record destruction that we first exposed in this article.

We understand the attorney for the Township at the time has resigned his services, however, the Supervisor should resign as well considering this illegal action was at her direction, again.  May we also suggest the Clerk step down as he too was a party to the action.  Any Clerk that thinks they actually have a vote on such matters clearly does not know what his duties are.

You can download the AG opinion at this link or view below.  Additionally, we encourage further reading of the past issues identified with Laura Morask as the Supervisor, which can be found at this link.
