LaSalle County- Petition filed for Special Prosecutor for possible action against State's Attorney Brian Towne

BY KIRK ALLEN & JOHN KRAFT

ON September 14, 2016

LaSalle Co. (ECWd) -

It appears others are taking interest in the questionable financial habits of LaSalle County State's Attorney.  A Petition to Appoint a Special Prosecutor was filed today by attorney Julie Ajster.

A copy of the petition can be viewed and downloaded below.  It appears to speak for itself.  We do see key documents that point to an article we have been prepping which is Towne getting paid to teach when in fact he is supposed to be a full-time States Attorney.

He appears to have collected per-diem from the county while working for the Appellate Prosecutors office which may well be very problematic for Towne as one can't receive a per-diam from a county who employs them so they can go work for another agency.  Interestingly is the fact Towne got paid from the Appellate Prosecutor to teach classes yet he sits on that board?  Is that possible self-enrichment, more commonly referred to as Official Misconduct, which is alleged in the petition?
